  • Do you need to be of a certain fitness level to enter the Santa Fun Run?
    • No. It is a 5km fun run that anyone of any fitness level can enter. The route once confirmed, will be easy and is not designed to test runner's endurance. You can run, hop, skip or wheel your way round.
  • Is there an age restriction on who can enter?
    • No, the Santa Fun Run is open to people of all ages.
  • What is the latest date that I can register for the Santa Fun Run?
    • Saturday 26 November at Midday
  • Are prams allowed in the Santa Fun Run?
    • Yes.
  • Are pets allowed in the Santa Fun Run?
    • No. The only animals allowed in the Santa Fun Run are Guide Dogs.
  • Is it compulsory to wear a Santa suit? If I don’t wear one will I be allowed
    in the race?
    • Variety is encouraging all runners to get into the Christmas spirit and wear their Santa suits. We are hoping to have a sea of people in red running through the city. Should you forget yours on the day you will still of course be able to enter the race, but you should you win the race you will not be eligible for the winners prize or title. It is compulsory however for every participant to wear an entrant number.
  • Do I have to fundraise? Or is entering the event enough?
    • As with all Variety events, we put the FUN into FUNdraising! We encourage you to ask your friends/co-workers/family to enter the Santa Run and for anyone who is not up for the challenge to sponsor you through your Go Fundraise page.
  • Can people enter the race on the day?
    • No. Participants must be entered by Midday on Saturday 26 November 2011
  • Can someone who hasn’t entered just join in the run with me?
    • No. Only registered runners may run in the Santa Fun Run.
  • What is in my race kit and when will I receive it?
    • The adult and children's race kit will include an official Variety Santa Suit and we encourage the under 2s to dress in the festive spirit. All participants (except the under 2s) will receive an entrant number at registration between 7 – 8am on the day of the race.
  • Can I form a team or bring along my friends/family?
    • Yes please, round up your family, friends, co-workers, classmates and the like. For team information, register here. Tell your friends/family who don’t want to participate to come down, support you and enjoy the food, drinks and entertainment.
  • Is there car parking?
    • This will be confirmed once the route has been finalised.
  • Will there be water stations?
    • Yes there will be water stations at the start and finish of the race but we encourage you to bring your own refreshments as well.
